G-Elite Martial Arts had the privilege of being invited to attend the World Kido Federation's 2023 biannual summit. It was an incredible honor to be invited by the Grandmaster Seo family and the opportunity to be reunited with old mentors and friends was one that couldn't be missed. The nostalgia of training and being surrounded by lifelong martial artists was something that had been missed throughout the years.The meetings and training sessions were impressive as it was clear that everyone in attendance had one goal in mind; to preserve and continue the authenticity of martial arts and kapkido. The WKF goes beyond traditional martial arts to have relatable and impactful lessons, including discussions on neurodivergence and the impact of martial arts, our role in our communities, and the importance of personal growth to encourage and support each other. This added perspective was so refreshing in the traditional martial arts community and encouraged everyone to participate and strive for improved association.
Over 290 participants attended the event, including adult martial artists, black belt teens, underclassmen children, and even several grandmasters well into their 80s. G-Elite students were able to work together with these participants and showcase their attention to detail, memory, and skill sets. One of our students, Sir Wilson, was even selected to be a demonstration partner for the grandmaster, the pinnacle of martial arts excellence.
Participating in this event has encouraged G-Elite Martial Arts School to continue in the same direction and demonstrates the impact martial arts can have on individuals and our community. Being a lone wolf for so long, it was an incredible experience to be part of a pack and partake in the World Kido Federation's 2023 biannual summit. Well done everyone!
