After a week of wearing Elite Sports ultra light BJJ martial arts uniform, I can say that using a grappling uniform for traditional martial arts training has several pros and cons. The pro side is the uniform feels extremely durable and made of quality materials. Putting it on made me feel like i was training with a weighted top as the material is much thicker. Kinda felt like i was in my training arc in an anime. I also really really enjoyed the pants. They feel as if they're snug, however once you start moving there's definitely enough space to allow fluid movements. I had several students try them and we all enjoyed the tapered cut and feel, unlike our current uniform pants; students are constantly hiking them up to perform high kicks and low stances. The cons for the uniform are they feel stiff, this will prob change over time, however i am about 5'8 and 205 and the uniform I received said it would go to 5'9 and 210, but it felt snug and due to the stiff materials, I couldn't roll up my selves and if you didn't know it does get stuffy in your do bok (uniform). All in all, we are happy to have been given the opportunity to collaborate with Elite Sports and will definitely keep them in mind for our future black belt/custom uniforms. Below are a couple of links to some of their other products. THANKS CHRIS! Feel free to contact us for other merch recommendations.
